Welcome to the Father-Inclusion Hub

We are a team of expert researchers based at the University of Lincoln and a national provider for evidence-based solutions designed to promote inclusive father and family-focused services and policies.

Evidence tells us that fathers want to be there for their children but often encounter barriers in accessing public services designed to support them. Services tell us they want to support dads more effectively but don’t always know how to and often experience barriers in doing so.

Underpinned by cutting-edge social science research conducted by leading experts in applied fatherhood research in the UK, we work in collaboration with fathers, families, and father-focused services and organisations to better understand their needs and to advocate for, and embed, a responsive father-inclusive practice and policy approach.

Here at the Father-Inclusion hub, our mission is to ensure that dads are effectively supported to be there for their children and that family-focused professionals have their training needs met and are able to access to the evidence-so that they can support dads, their partners/co-parents and their children to flourish.

We aim to:

  1. Create a legacy and an archive of 'what works' in fatherhood practice, research, evaluation and policy in the UK and beyond,
  2. Promote effective examples of fatherhood practice, research, evaluation and policy to inform continued best practice,
  3. Advocate for father-inclusive practice and policies so that they benefit child and family welfare,
  4. Share and create cutting-edge evidence and support for father-inclusive practice, service design and policy.

The Father-Inclusion Hub provides unique access to the latest research and resources, as well as examples of ‘what works’ in embedding an ethos of father-inclusion in your organisation.

Want to partner with us? You can also commission our support! We offer a range of co-design and research services including evaluation, consultancy and continued professional development opportunities that can be tailored to your specific needs.
