Dads United

Co-created with funding from the Following Young Fathers Further study, the Grimsby Dads Collective, now Dads United, brings together fathers and carers from Grimsby who had a child under the age of 25, or soon-to be fathers under the age of 25. Small Steps Big Changes

Based in Nottingham, UK, Small Steps Big Changes (SSBC) is one of five 'A Better Start Partnerships', a ten-year (2015-2025), £215 million programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF). Father Inclusive Practice was one of SSBC’s core system change objectives. SSBC's resource hub brings together a pack of info for dads, a father-inclusive campaign toolkit and strategy poster, and a service standards and audit tool for services.

The YoungMinds Parents Helpline

The YoungMinds Parents Helpline and web resources are there for dads YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity fighting for young people’s mental health. YoungMinds offers a free, national Helpline service for any parent or carer concerned about a young person aged 0-25. The Parents Helpline has trained advisors and is confidential. You can contact the service by phone or webchat. It also provides a translation service which can translate into more than 200 languages. The YoungMinds website has comprehensive resources for all parents and carers, including activities you can do to support conversations with your child, what to do if your child doesn’t want to talk and what to do if your child tells you they're struggling.

Leeds Dads

Leeds Dads is a multi-award winning, volunteer run charitable support group that bonds dads with their pre-school kids, and other dads. Running since 2010, the study has supported over 1000 dads per year with free SoftPlay, Breakfast Club and Dads and Kids Walks every weekend for 46 weeks of the year. Based in Torfaen South Wales, For Dads, By Dads is a ten-week support programme aimed at helping new and expectant dads that is provided in a safe environment. The organisation has partnered with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, the Early Years Team Torfaen, the Torfaen Family information service, Fathers Mental Health, 4 Minds, Tidy Butt, Ara Recoveries For All, Newport County in the community, Gwent N-Gage, Newport Dragons Community and Child & Family Community Psychology (ABUHB). The programme is run by Jacob Guy through the Torfaen Sports Development for Torfaen County Borough Council. Access videos, example adverts and more in this resource pack for support for all fathers.

Sowing Seeds was set up in January 2002, by 3 men and a woman who worked with children and young people. It formed itself as a charitable association in January 2005 and a company ltd by guarantee in 2006. We have been working from the inception with African Caribbean Men/fathers, firstly as part of the Baby-father Initiative and since 2005 by ourselves.
